The assizes for this county ended here on Tuesday laft, at which four prisoners were capitally convicted, viz. James Hillier, for stealing two silver spoons, two shirts, a pair of shoes, and other goods, the property of Wm. Weeks, of Broughton; Richard Dickenson, for dealing a silver watch, John Carter, for stealing out of the counting-house of John Clark, of Trowbridge, eighteen guineas in gold; and Wm. Scutts, for breaking into the dwelling-house of Geo. Thrasher, of Garsden, and stealing 30l. in gold and silver — Hillier is left for execution, the other three reprieved.] [William Scutts, one of 1063 convicts transported on the Neptune, Scarborough and Surprize, December 1789.
