A licensed victualer running a pub in Whitecross Street in the parish of St. Luke's Old Street. He became known as Joseph Scotts. He paid land tax 1824-26, and insuring his pub, 'The Royal Oak', with Sun Fire Insurance in 1823 and 1825. The 1826 land tax records Joseph as Scoots. 1826-27 Fosters Buildings in Whitecross Street, St. Luke, Middlesex. He ran 'The George', and paying land tax from 1827 onwards.
