Two little boys, aged five and seven respectively, sons of Mr. Martin F. Scudds, were on the landing steps playing, when the younger of the two boys fell into the water,and his brother, in endeavouring to grasp him, tumbled in as well. Contents date range 1914-1920.] [DIVORCE COURT :The Argus (Melbourne, Wednesday 6 April 1927, page 10 - Divorce Court - Frederick Charles Scudds 50 years of South Melbourne despatch divorce petition to Justice McArthur in the First Civil Court for DIVORCE from Emily Charlotte Scudds aged 49 of Italy Street, Elwood on the grounds of DESERTION. The parties were married in July 1910. Partititioner said while my wife and I were living in Geelong we agreed to sell the business we were conducting and to separate. The sale realised &1*** and I gave my wife &1100, she obtained employment as a barmaid and we remained friends until 1923. Then there was a quarrel about my losing money at the races. My wife then told me to go my way and she would go her way. She has since refused to return to me. A decree nisi was granted.] [F C S 78yr.]
