Notities [Some Selected Reports from the Salisbury & Winchester Journal Monday, July 31st, 1786 Salisbury, July 31 - William Scutts, for breaking into the dwelling-house of George Thrasher, of Garsden, and stealing £30 in gold and silver.] [Bath Chronicle and Weekly Gazette, Thursday 10 August 1786. The assizes for this county ended here on Tuesday laft, at which four prisoners were capitally convicted, viz. James Hillier, for stealing two silver spoons, two shirts, a pair of shoes, and other goods, the property of Wm. Weeks, of Broughton; Richard Dickenson, for dealing a silver watch, John Carter, for stealing out of the counting-house of John Clark, of Trowbridge, eighteen guineas in gold; and Wm. Scutts, for breaking into the dwelling-house of Geo. Thrasher, of Garsden, and stealing 30l. in gold and silver — Hillier is left for execution, the other three reprieved.] [William Scutts, one of 1063 convicts transported on the Neptune, Scarborough and Surprize, December 1789.
