Notes [Hull Daily Mail Wednesday 09 June 1886. A Warning to Drivers. On Monday, about 2.30 p.m., a youth named Herbert Scutts was riding a tricycle on the Beverley Road, when a man named A. W. Partis, in the employ Mr J. R Partis, timber merchant, St. Paul's Street, deliberately drove into his machine, destroying one wheel and throwing Scutts violently on the footpath. Mr S. B. Mason, hon. sec. of the newly-formed East Riding Centre of the National Cyclists Union, came up a few moments after the occurrence, took the necessary particulars, and at once instructed Arthur Mills, solicitor, commence an action against the owner of the rul*y.
