Scutt, of Moreton, to Mary Anne, eldest daughter of Mr. Homer, the former place.] [Sherborne Mercury, Monday 11 January 1836. John White, charged on oath with feloniously stealing a quantity of hay, on the 25th day December last, the parish of Hilton, the property of William Scutt - Acquitted.] [Sherborne Mercury, Monday 06 June 1842. To Henry Ker Seymour Esq., High Sheriff for the County of Dorset. Mr, WE, the under signed, Freeholders and Others, habitants like County of Dorset, request you call a Meeting of the Inhabitants of this County, on such early day may suit your convenience to join in an Address of Congratulation to her Majesty on her escape from the late diabolical attempt on her life, to express our extreme grief and horror that any person should he found within these realms capable of committing wicked and traitorous an act against Her Royal person - William Scutt.] [Salisbury and Winchester Journal Sat 26 Jan 1856 Dorsetshire. Dorchester - We regret to announce an accident which occurred on Saturday last Mr. William Scutt, of Bere Regis, who was thrown out of his gig, and had his thigh broken. It appears that the tire the wheel became loose and frightened the horse, when, unfortunately the reigns broke and running against the bank, the gig was upset. The accident occurred near to Mr. Scutt's house, to which he was immediately conveyed, and we are sorry to say he is still in a very precarious state.] [W S - 77yr.]
