During his early life he lived in Mattoon, Illinois, before the family moved to Greene County, Indiana, in 1923. He graduated from Solsberry High School while living in Greene County, where he met his wife to be, Mildred (Weaver) Scutt, and they were wed in 1933. Marion and Mildred then moved to Stanford, Indiana. They lived in this Monroe County community for the remainder of their lives. Survivors include one sister-in-law, Betty Scutt of Columbia City, IN; one granddaughter, Brenda Billingsley and her husband Jeffrey of Canal Winchester, OH; two grandsons Burke Crohn and his wife Kathy of Greer, SC, and Barry Crohn and his wife Lili of Cape Coral, FL. M A S b:1910 Sep 05 - passed away Saturday evening December 20, 2008, at Garden Villa, Bloomington, Indiana - bur:Edwards Cemetery, Greene, Indiana. He was a member of the Stanford Baptist Church, a Past Master of the Stanford Masonic Lodge, and a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. |

Artist, oil painter, rifle maker, hand engraver, musician, friend. Resident of Hendersonville, TN, and a farm at Whitleyville, Clay County, TN. Juvenile years at Huntingburg, Martinsville, New Castle, Indiana. Son of Dr. George Scutt, Jr, & Iva Mae (Roberts) Scutt, both of Bloomington, IN. Many happy memories of grandfather George Augusta Scutt, and grandmother Anna (Blick) Scutt, Bloomington. First Baptist Nashville, and Campground United Methodist Church, Clay County, TN.
