[individual notes]
Hull Daily Mail, Wednesday 17 January 1923. Death. The death took place on Tuesday morning, under circumstances, after few days illness from croup, of Master Scutt, aged 12, youngest son of Mr. & Mrs J. Scutt, Elm Tree Farm, Eastrington. The deceased, a bright and promising boy, attended the Council School up to Wednesday morning last week, and his illness (throat affection), rapidly developed into so malignant a form that an immediate operation was deemed necessary, and this was successfully performed on Saturday by Drs. Wigglesworth (Howden) and Askew (Holme-on-Spalding-Moor.) In spite of every care, including the services of a trained nurse, the patient's condition, however, gradually grew worse, and he passed away as stated. The sympathy of a wide district goes out to Mr & Mrs Scutt and family in their sad and sudden bereavement.
