[The Advertiser (Adelaide, Saturday 16 September 1916, page 6). ... Magistrates Court - Glenelg, Thursday, September 14. (Before Messrs. W. Patterson and J. McCann.) Alfred Bottomley, William Green, Herbert Statford, and Thomas Scutt were charged, on the information of W. H. Jeanes, town clerk of the Glenelg Corporation, with having galloped horses on the beach at a speed exceeding six miles an hour on Sunday, September 10. The evidence showed that the accused, who each pleaded guilty, had raced their mounts along the beach at a speed of between 12 and 16 miles an hour. The bench inflicted a fine of 10/- with 10/- costs in each case.] [Police. Adelaide, Monday, August 17. (Before Mr. E. M. Sabine, P.M.)
