"Arthur Scutt, a vegetable hawker, Dorking, pleaded guilty using threats towards John Winwood. Complainant said he lived at Stonebridge, and on August 12th defendant called on the house where he was lodging and asked to see him. He danced about like cockatoo on a hot plate" (laughter) and said he would kill him if he came out, but witness was not stupid enough so he said he would give him something if he caught him off the highway. Defendant also insulted his landlady, and in Dene Street threw rotten tomatoes at her. If witness had been near he would wrung his nose and looked him up the bargain (laughter). Mrs. Sewell, the landlady, also gave evidence, and the Chairman told defendant they were compelled bind him over keep the peace. Complainant for his expenses. No; stand down, Sir.] [A P S - 25yr.]
