Thomas Scutt - Ashington 1789/1809 - Chichester archives. Thomas Scutt, yeoman of the parish of Ashington, written 25 March 1806, proved 23 Sep 1808. It mentions his present wife, Ann; his brother, John; his dau Susanna wife of Thomas Lidbetter of Lancing and their 9 children, Thomas, Mary, Susanna, Bridger(sic), Adam Aaron Ann and George(some?) under 21 and his dau Ann wife of Wm Gravely of Storrington and their 8 children, John, William, Harry, Thomas Scutt, Nathan, Mary Ann, Rhoda Ticehurst and Sabina (some?) under 21. His Executors were his 4 "nephews"(sic) Thomas Lidbetter the younger of Southwick merchant, Samuel Lidbetter of Lancing farmer, Thomas Scutt Gravely of Storrington farmer and Nathan Gravely of Storrington, miller and his two daughters, Susanna Lidbetter and Ann Gravely. These 6 individuals proved the will [all were Quakers]. Ashington 23/9/1808 yeoman - Will under £3500 STCI/47 p.153.
