Notoj [Western Morning News, Devon, Saturday 18 July 1936. Exceptional Scoring Bowls. Plymouth Rinks Performance. Remarkable score was set by a Plymouth (Sir Francis Drake) rink this week, when the club met Peverell Park at Mannamead. Messrs. Isbeli, Nelson, Scutt, and R. Jack, the Argyle secretary-manager, were members of a rink that won by 51 shots to 7. Mr. Jack's rink led by 43-0 at the fourteenth end. It would be interesting to know if this score constitutes a record for a match played under E.B.A. rules. It is quite possible that it was eclipsed many years ago when there were three members on each side, and when the game extended to ends instead of 21 ends as at present.] [N H S - 51yr.]
