WINE and SPIRITS of the PUREST QUALITY. Morning Star Wine and Spirit Store. C. SCUDDS Begs respectfully to inform his customers and the public that having opened the above named Store in conjunction with the Hotel, he is enabled to offer the Finest and the Purest of Wines and Spirits at satisfactory prices. A large stock of English Ales and Stout always on hand. A Single bottle at Wholesale Prices. Particular attention is also invited to his stock of Colonial Wines, 3, 4, 5, and 6 years old.] [LY-EE MOON from the port of Melbourne to Sydney, NSW, 21st June 1879, Bedroom steward, crew.] [The Argus (Melbourne, Vict.: Monday 3 April 1882) - A serious accident happened to a man named Charles Scudds aged 32 years living at the Club Hotel, Williamstown whilst out shooting on the Werribee Plains shortly before 3 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. He had been shooting on the plains beyond Boots Cray all day. Using a double barrel fowling piece and before returning in the afternoon, with one of the barrels loaded he discharged it in the air to prevent accidents. The barrel immediately exploded about 8in from the nipple and completed shattered Scudds left hand blowing several of the fingers away, and exploding the wrist bone for several inches.
