Kendall.] [Woodford Local Board. August 31 1885 ......... The Drainage Works, Mr. Scutts, of Woodford, was appointed engineer at the eastern works, at a salary of 26s. per week, cottage rent free, and fuel. Public Lighting.] [South London Chronicle, Saturday 30 December 1865. Westminster. Harry Scraper, a man in the employ of C. S. Jolly, corn merchant, of York Road, Lambeth, was fined 40s., for having been drunk, and incapable of taking care of horse and cart was driving. He had brought the vehicle into collision with a cart driven by William Scutts, farrier, of New Kent Road, in Great George Street causing great injury to the latter's horse, the amount of damages for which remained for assessment in the county court.] [Essex Newsman - Monday 31 January 1887. Mr. Barnes moved, pursuance of notice, that the fine £1 imposed upon Mr. Scutts (in charge of the Eastern Sewage Works), consequence of the damage ran soon to the engine the above-mentioned works, be remitted.
