Willis applied for the discharge of William Nicholas Mercer Scutts, solicitor, who was adjudged bankrupt on Oct 12 1898, with liabilites £135 and assets which have realized £3.10s 11d. It appeared that some 35 years age the bankrupt made an arrangement with his creditors, under which he paid 2s.6d. in the pound on claims amounting to £40, and that he had recently omitted to keep proper books of account. Mr.C.A.Pope attended as Assistant Official Receiver.
