Hull Daily Mail, Saturday 04 February 1939. Goole Wedding. The wedding took place at Goole Parish Church today of Mr Arthur Sherbourne, second son of and Mrs J. A. Sherbourne, of Buttfield Road, Howden, and Miss Edna Avis Scutt, only daughter of Mrs Scutt & the late Mr W. Scutt, of Westfleld Square, Goole. The Rev F. Frow officiated. The bride, who was given away by her cousin, Mr Harry Moody, wore gown of slipper satin, cut on classical lines. The bridesmaids were Miss M. Moody (cousin), and Miss Jean and Miss Joan Sherbourne (sisters of the bridegroom), all of whom wore blue taffeta, trimmed with silver. Mr George R. Hall (friend of the bridegroom) was best man, and Mr D. Sherbourne (brother), was groomsman. After the reception, Mr and Mrs Sherbourne left for the west coast. |
