[Census 1881 states Bath St. James's, Somerset (Frank Scutt b:circa 1857).] [Bristol Mercury, Monday 15 August 1887. Outing, On Saturday, the employees of Mr F. Scutt, builder and contractor, Gloucester Road, Bishopston, had their outing to London, arriving at Paddington. Several places of interest were visited, and dinner was provided at the Swan Hotel, Paddington, where the health of Mr Scutt was heartily drunk. The party arrived in Bristol during the small hours, after thoroughly enjoying themselves.] [Bristol Mercury, Thursday 20 October 1892. The foundation stone of a new Congregationalism & school chapel, at Staple Hill, was laid before a numerous gathering by Mr Jonathan L, Evans yesterday afternoon ..... . To Mary Elizabeth Scutt (widow).] [Western Daily Press - Thursday 18 March 1926. Late Mr Frank Scutt. Funeral at Canford. The death took place on Sunday, after a long illness of Mr Frank Scutt, who passed away at residence 46 Oakfield Road, Clifton. Mr Scutt had formerly been a well known figure in the building trade, especially in the district around the old County Ground but had retired from active business life for some 20 years. He leaves a wife and one daughter, his only son, Wilfred having made the great sacrifice in France in 1917. The funeral took place at Canford Cemetery where the Rev. Canon Haigh officiated, and the mourners were: Messrs C. E. Scutt, F G. Scutt, and F. H. Higgs (nephews), Messrs T. Stennard, A. Gibson, T. R. Phillips, E. A. Pockson, E. Morris, E. O. Parsons, R. G. David, J. Jaques, I. Recce, and F. Withers. An old friend, Mr S. C. Cox ( Western Daily Press, London) was unable to be present. There were many beautiful flowers. The arrangements were under the personal direction of George Pakeman, 111 White Ladies Road.]
